The attorneys at Skeeters, Bennett, Wilson & Pike are pleased to announce that our very own Terry Bennett was inducted into the Hardin County Chamber of Commerce (HCCC) hall of fame on Wednesday.
The Chamber Hall of Fame was developed to recognize individuals of the business community who have gone above and beyond during their time of membership.
Marilyn Ford, immediate past chairwoman of the HCCC Board, presented the award, stating that service to others has always been a priority of Terry’s.
“He is past president of the Radcliff Chamber of Commerce and a founding member of the Radcliff Rotary Club, and he continues to generously support the work of a number of nonprofits in our community through pro bono services,” said Ford.
“I don’t volunteer because I believe it’s an obligation, but because I love it. It’s important to support the community,” said Terry. “I try to do that in a small way by helping the chamber.”
Terry is definitely not lacking in contribution to the community. He is a former Army officer in the JAG Corps, past president of the Hardin County Bar Association, past member of the House of Delegates of the Kentucky Bar Association, past Trial Commissioner for the Kentucky Bar Association and a former member of the Kentucky Bar Association Inquiry Commission.
He also is a board member and previous board chairman of First Citizens Bank and is the current Chairman of the Board of its holding company, Farmers Capital Bank Corporation.
Currently the Hardin County Chamber’s board attorney, he offers his invaluable counsel and broad institutional knowledge to the organization. According to Ford, his expertise was especially important in shaping the countywide chamber HCCC is today.
The attorneys and staff are fortunate to have a community leader and excellent lawyer like Terry to work with and learn from everyday. Congrats, Terry!
